Sandplay is a non-directive method of therapy that involves the client freely choosing miniatures from a collection of several hundred made available and creating any picture they want in a sand tray. The range of miniatures includes animal and human figures along with motor vehicles, planes, furniture, houses, castles, plants, insects, heroes and heroines. The miniatures are representative of the evolution of man.

Sandplay provides clients the opportunity to express their feelings, emotions and inner world in a non-verbal and non threatening way. The therapist provides a safe, nurturing and empathic space for the client and then steps into the client’s world and sees this world expressed through the client’s sandplay.

“In sandplay, we withhold judgement. We accept the uniqueness of individuals and their ways of coping and dealing with their wounds, their problems.”
